Oops and Our Upcoming Private Events
OK, kids. This is why your teacher tells you to double check everything.
Somehow we managed to get our calendars off and scheduled Veterans Day for November 10th when the rest of the country scheduled it for November 11th. So, Veterans Day is on WEDNESDAY, not Tuesday. Everything else is the same, we’ve just changed the day.
Net Heads will be closed briefly for two private events this weekend:
- Friday November 13th, from Noon to 5pm
- Sunday, November 15th from 1pm to 5pm
Remember, if your organization is looking for a fun, affordable outing this holiday season, Net Heads can handle crowds of all sizes for some interactive entertainment. Don’t stand around in a conference room trying to guess when it’s OK to leave. Bring them here and have a great time.
Lastly, we have some killer new games coming up soon so watch for those announcements.
As always, if you RSVP to events on our Facebook fan page you get discounts on admission fees.
Thanks, guys.
Veterans Day – Free for Veterans and a Guest

If you are now serving or have ever served in the US Armed Forces, your money’s no good on Wednesday. Come in for a little R & R at Net Heads on the house.
We’ve done this every year for as long as we can remember but this is the first time we’ll be able to do it in our new location.
Stay all day if you wish. This year we want you to bring a guest (veteran or not) and have a good time with us.
It’s not easy to think of a way to thank those men and women who risk their lives for our country – whether they serve in times of war or peace. If you know one (including your parents) take a minute and tell them “thanks.” They’ll appreciate it.
Thanks, guys.
Borderlands Daily Challenge
Starting Monday of this week (26th), and continuing through November 8th, we have a special promotion for Borderlands http://www.borderlandsthegame.com running that can net you free game time, free drinks, a 16GB Zune HD, 2,000 Zune points, and a $1000 Dell Gift Card.

At the end of the promotion, we will draw one winning ticket. That winner will receive a Microsoft Zune HD 16GB http://www.zune.net/zuneHD, 2,000 Zune points, and an entry into a grand prize drawing (with a 1 in 25 chance of winning!) for a $1000 Dell Gift Card.
Also, Monday – Thursday both weeks of the promotion, we are holding Borderlands Happy Hour from 8pm-9pm where you can come play the game for free and try to beat that day’s challenge.
And don’t forget to sign up for our Borderlands Launch Party this coming Friday. If you RSVP on Facebook, entry is free!

The best part about the event – RSVP for the launch party on facebook and your entry is FREE! The entry fee for everyone else will be $10. Visit www.facebook.com/netheads to become our fan and RSVP for the event.
Borderlands is rated M, so you’ll need to be 17 years of age or have a parent’s permission to attend.
Come play Borderlands with us next Friday!
Halo 3: ODST Launch Party
Friday, September 25th from 8pm – 2am we’re hosting a Launch Party for a little game you might have heard about, Halo 3: ODST.
We’re having a Firefight Tournament starting at 8:30pm, as well as a Halo Trivia contest, a prize raffle, and more.
The cost per person is only $10.
The Firefight Tournament will require a 4 man team, but you may form a pick-up team upon arrival.
Come play the new Firefight game mode and try the new multiplayer maps with us!
You don’t have to pay until you arrive, but if you want to guarantee a spot (space is limited) you can register on the event page at iGames.
Also, be aware that we want to make sure as many people as possible get to try the game, so you may have to take turns (GASP!). However, we will have organized rotation for open play, and everyone will be able to participate in all activites!
Halo 3: ODST Sneak Preview
Next friday we’re having our big ODST launch party. For only $10, you’ll get to participate in a Firefight tournament, prize drawings, Halo trivia contest, and more.
It’s sure to be a blast.
Before we do that, though, we need to make sure that our staff is up to speed on the game’s new campaign and firefight mode so we don’t look like chumps when all of you guys roll in here next weekend. To prepare, we’re having a special midnight party on Monday for the staff and a few of our resident experts and volunteers. It will be a private event and we’ll be playing after-hours.
Sounds like fun, right? Sounds like total BS too! Keeping all that fun to ourselves would make us total tools.
So, we would like to offer 4 worthy individuals the chance to join us this Monday.
Since we can’t do thumb wrestling over the internet, we’ll do an MS Paint contest instead!
All you have to do to win a spot are the following three things.
- Create an image in MS Paint (no photoshop!) of Sgt Johnson doing whatever you think he does when he’s off duty.
- Email your submission to josh@netheads.com in jpg or png format.
- Be chosen by our expert panel of judges based on your originality, cleverness, humor, and use of late 80′s Ford Tauruses.
Note, we’re playing a Mature rated game on a school night, and we in no way want to incur your Mom’s wrath. Hence, you’ll need a parent’s permission to participate if you’re a youngin’!
Arrrrrrrrrr!
This Saturday, the 19th, is International Talk Like a Pirate Day.
Of course, this means we’ll be playing Pirates, Vikings, & Knights II, drinking Root Jack, and swabbing the poop deck.
We’ll give away precious booty to the mangiest dogs in PVK II at 3pm and 9pm, and everyone that speaks in Pirate upon sign-in will get a free hour of game time.
If you arrive in full pirate garb (puffy shirt required) we’ll give you a free Root Jack and you can play for free all day.
As an extra bonus, call Nate a “bilge rat” and he’ll dispense a pirate joke free of charge. Limit 10 per customer.
new video up
For those of you who attended our video shoot, you can check it out.
To view the video, click here (or the “video” link on the right).
Thanks to all those who helped us with this project!
free gaming this sunday & more free gaming if you’re good
Update: Click here for event photos.
the deal:
We’re shooting a video this Sunday afternoon (with professional videographers no less) and we need your help.
In order to get the shots he wants, we’re trying to absolutely pack the house. You know what that means: FREE GAMING FOR EVERYONE!!! (Yes, we know; we rock.)

Be here from 3pm to 6pm as we get the biggest games going with massive teams. How does a 26 man Team Fortress 2 Capture the Flag sound? Or a little Cat & Mouse? Oh, yeah..
the bonus:
Have you signed up for our text message loyalty list (we don’t have a cool name for it, yet)? Sometime on Saturday we’re going to be firing off a message to everyone in our text network. Bring in your phone and show us the text and you’ll get a FREE 2 Hour pass to use any time you want. If you’re not on the list now, signing up is easy, just click here to sign up and get more details. Do it now – before you forget – so you can get the extra bonus on Sunday.
the catch:
And here’s the fine print…
Since this video will be used in advertising and will show up on our website (and maybe YouTube) we need your permission to use your image (we will never identify you). We know your paparazzi don’t have anything signed, but that’s what makes us the good guys.
If you are under the age of 18:
We must have this release form signed by your parents – no exceptions. As mercenary as we are, we’re smart enough not to do that unless Mom says so. You can have a parent sign one when you arrive or bring one with you, but without a release, we can’t even let you in the building (because you’d ruin all the shots).
If you are 18 or older:
Being inside the building constitutes you granting us your permission to use any video content that contains you. This includes the totally ridiculous faces that you’re sure to make. There will be a sign on the door to that effect. If you don’t want to be included, better plan your weekend Net Heads visit for another time.
Don’t miss another free afternoon of gaming – this will be FUN!!
